Glen David Brin (ur. 6 października 1950), amerykański pisarz science fiction.

Urodził się w Glendale w Kalifornii. Z wykształcenia jest astrofizykiem, pracował dla NASA jako profesor fizyki. Mieszka w południowej Kalifornii. Zdobywca zarówno Hugo jak i Nebula (oprócz powieści także Hugo za opowiadanie The Crystal Spheres w 1985). Jego rodzina pochodzi z Polski (z okolic Konina).

Jego najbardziej znane dzieło to cykl Wspomaganie. Tematem przewodnim serii jest pomysł ogromnej galaktycznej cywilizacji odpowiedzialnej za "wspomaganie" wszelkich znanych inteligentnych form życia oddychających tlenem. Ludzkość w tej historii jest anomalią, ponieważ nie ma żadnego znanego "patrona", który wspomagałby jej cywilizacyjny rozwój. Z tego powodu większość innych galaktycznych ras uważa, że ludziom brak podstawowego zrozumienia i szacunku dla subtelnej, pielęgnowanej od milionów lat galaktycznej kultury. Oprócz powieści powstała również gra fabularna RPG oparta na świecie Wspomagania o nazwie GURPS: Uplift wykorzystująca system GURPS oraz ilustrowany przewodnik po świecie Wspomagania – Contacting Aliens: An Illustrated Guide to David Brin's Uplift Universe. Cykl powieściowy składa się z dwóch trylogii, opowiadania Życie ekstremalne' (Aficionado aka Life in the Extreme, 1998) i noweli Pokusa (Temptation, 1999).

Oprócz tego Brin znany jest z powieści postapokaliptycznej Listonosz, sfilmowanej, w główna rolę wcielił się Kevin Kostner.
