Judith Merril właściwie Josephine Juliet Grossman (1923-1997), amerykańska autorka science fiction, wydawca, redaktorka antologii. W szkole średniej uległa iluzji marksizmu, młodo wyszła za działacza trockistowskiego Zissmana. Na początku lat 40. zainteresowała się fantastyką, weszła w skład klubu The Futurians. Tu poznała swojego drugiego męża - Frederika Pohla. Związek z Pohlem szybko się rozpadł, na kilka miesięcy związała się z Walterem Millerem, autorem słynnej Kantyczki dla Leibowitza. Merril ściśle współpracowała też z innym autorem z Futurians - Cyrilem M. Kornbluthem - napisała z nim kilka powieści i opowiadań, pod wspólnym pseudonimem Cyril Judd.

W 1960 roku, w proteście wobec działań zimnowojennych USA, przeniosła się do Kanady, to bardzo mocno działała na rzecz kanadyjskiej SF, redagując antologie, zakładając kluby i fundacje.

Do końca życia pozostała bardzo energiczna osobą, zorganizowała nawet własną stypę w klubie w Toronto, w testamencie zaznaczając, których ludzi z fandomu należy zaprosić.

W Polsce jej dorobek pozostaje praktycznie nieznany.

Pseudonimy: Cyril Judd, Rose Sharon.
