John Kilian Houston Brunner (ur. 24 września 1934 – zm. 26 sierpnia 1995), brytyjski pisarz science fiction.

Urodził się w Preston Crowmarsh w Oxfordshire. Służył jako oficer w lotnictwie brytyjskim od 1953 do 1955 r. Zmarł w wyniku wylewu w Glasgow, w trakcie odbywającego się w tym mieście 53. Światowego Konwentu SF.

Jego najbardziej znane powieści to Stand on Zanzibar z 1968 r., The Jagged Orbit z 1969 r. i The Sheep Look Up z 1972 r. Pierwsza z nich, traktujaca o przeludnieniu, napisana w eksperymentalnej formie, technika strumienia świadomości, trochę w stylu Dos Passosa, otrzymała Nagrodę Hugo za najlepszą powieść. W zapowiadającej nurt cyberpunkowy powieści The Shockwave Rider (1975) wymyślił termin robaka komputerowego (computer worm).

Odwiedził Polskę, był gościem konwentu w Katowicach w 1987 roku. Jego twórczość, dość oryginalna, nie jest w Polsce dobrze znana.
