Julian May (właściwie Julian May Dikty), urodzona w 1931 roku w Chicago amerykańska pisarka fantasy i science fiction. Najbardziej znana z serii Saga o Plioceńskim Wygnaniu. Pochodzi z polskiej rodziny, May - pierwotnie Majewski. Już jako nastolatka działała w amerykańskim fandomie, redagowała fanziny, a swoje pierwsze opowiadanie - "Dune Roller" sprzedała w 1950 roku Johnowi Campbellowi do Astounding. Ale już w latach 50. wycofała się z fantastyki, pisząc literaturę dla dzieci - ma na swoim koncie ponad 250 publikacji dla młodego czytelnika. Wróciła do fantastyki w latach 70., i od razu publikacja, która przysporzyła jej wielką popularność, czyli wspomnianą Sagą.

Używa pseudonimów: Ian Thorne, J. C. May, Lee N. Falconer.
