Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda jest serialem telewizyjnym science-fiction pomysłu twórcy Star Trek Gena Roddenberry'ego realizowanym już po jego śmierci (od 2000 roku). Łącznie powstało 5 sezonów, 110 odcinków.

Fabuła

Największa organizacja gwarantująca spokój i bezpieczeństwo wszechświata - Wspólnota Planet - rozpada się w wyniku zdrady jednej z ras (Nietzhean). Kapitan statku Andromeda - Dylan Hunt, dostawszy się w zasadzkę, rozkazuje załodze opuścić statek, sam zaś próbuje odciągnąć wrogą flotę. Niestety, Andromeda wpada w czarną dziurę. Po 300 latach poszukiwacze wraków wyciągają ją z osobliwości razem z Huntem, dla którego czas się zatrzymał. Zorientowawszy się, że wszystko co znał i kochał zostało zniszczone, a wszechświat jest nękany wojnami i wyzyskiem, postanawia przywrócić Wspólnotę Planet. W tym celu sprzymierzając się z nową załogą, wyrusza z misją, aby zachęcić inne światy do przyłączenia się.

Ciekawostki

• Brandy Ledford ubiegała się o rolę Andromedy, lecz po kastingu rolę otrzymała Lexa Doig. Kiedy podczas prac nad piątym sezonem Lexa była niedostępna z powodu ciąży, producenci w zastępstwie obsadzili Brandy jako androida o imieniu Doyle.
• Postać kapitana Dylana Hunta jest jedyną, która pojawia się we wszystkich odcinkach.
